Performance focused features such as rear-wheel steering and the largest carbon ceramic brakes fitted to a road car are standard, giving the Urus a unique driving dynamic. There are absolutely no subtleties to the exterior design, it is certainly every inch a Lamborghini in terms of styling. The Urus is described by Lamborghini to have ‘the soul of a super sports car’, with looks resembling the Aventador SV supercar. To give the Urus a market edge over its competitors the engine has been reworked with new cylinder heads resulting in an overall power increase of 99hp over for example the Cayenne Turbo. This same V8 is used throughout the VW Group, including the Porsche Cayenne and Audi RS6, demonstrating this engines pedigree. This is at odds with the concept vehicle, which incorporated Lamborghini’s world renowned naturally aspirated V10. The Urus is classed as a ‘mid-size luxury crossover SUV’ and features a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and 4-wheel drive system. The Lamborghini Urus was first introduced in 2018 and is Lamborghini’s second foray into the Super SUV world, the first being with the LM002 which really was ahead of the curve.
